I am offering my Rover 100 up for £FREE.
Its just had an MOT a couple of months back where it failed on corrosion on the rear arches. This was cheaply fixed by a local mechanic with it being removed, little welding and then a bit of fibreglass to make it look respectable and its turned out pretty good. Other than that it had a boot light that was out.
Its got 4 good tyres, two newer than the others I think, all Cooper and reasonably good tread.
Basically its dead, its something in the ignition circuit (not battery, ignition switch or fuses) as it wont get get to any point where it will start. The Battery is good, headlights/horn etc work. I am getting a new car and this is currently SORN so off the road. I don't really have the desire to get it back running, its been a great servant to me and it does not really owe me anything now.
It would be perfect for someone learning to drive or a cheap car for short commutes.
I have loads of service history up until the previous owner, and a heap of receipts (including the original sales papers etc).
It was a good runner, I have done around 12k -15k miles a year in it for the past 3 odd years, and apart from a new Alternator its been great, giving me 46mpg average and generally been very reliable. Its done 57k miles on the clock, but it stopped working a good while back so I would estimate it would have done around 70k miles by now.
General body work is really good, the sills may need attention soon but nothing obvious.
There are a few other little bits but if anyone is interested, then I can go over in more detail. I will get some more recent photos at the weekend.
If anyone wants it, you are welcome to it, and save it/keep it going, otherwise it will get sent to the great car home in the sky.
Only thing is you will have to take it away if you want it (I cant store it) collection from Faringdon, Nr Swindon.
