	Hello Picking up a E46 BMW in the next few days. Its been sitting a wee while and the battery is dead. I believe the original is a 80a and I have a fairly new 45a sitting. Can I use that to drive the car about 50km then change? or will it blow up? Thanks Sinky

	which engine? tbh it should do fine to get it moving but if its a larger engine you'd be wise to add some jump leads in the mix to make sure you don't flatten the battery

	Take the battery, take jump leads, run them to the battery in the passenger footwell?

	Hi, Remove the dead battery, and put what ever battery it takes to get it running on, perhaps with a jump. After it's running the alternator supplies all the power needed. You can't blow up or overcharge a battery unless there is a problem with the alternators regulator. Colin

	I agree with colnerev, as long as the battery is a 12volt car battery once the car is started it will be fine if the alternator is working. If the alternator is working as it should you can use the A/C and lights etc.

	45amper still in the motor.Working fine.Have to get a 80amp soon tho. Battles I'm originally form Embra .HHGH
