As far as I can make out, all 318iS have an LSD. The 318iS is quite a different beast from a common-or-garden 318i. For a start, there's the M42 16-valve engine with loves to rev - the power does just go on and on! You also get the full on M-tech bits on the inside (seats, steering wheel etc.) plus a few bits outside, although these are quite subtle when compared to an M3. Further differences are in the suspension, steering, brakes and drivetrain, which are all beefed up to cope. These cars are an absolute hoot to drive: They curse word all over a 320 (as my mate Gary found out!), and are almost as quick top end as a 325i. However, the iS is much more driver orientated that a 325i, which is why lots of folks describe it as a "baby M3" Performance is pretty perky too: They'll top out at 127 in standard trim, with 60 coming up in under 9. To get a bit more go, removal of the Cat exhaust system gets a few more bhp. Mine's had this done, and I've seen 127 in it with room to spare (and 170,000 on the clock - they will run forever). Next stage for me will be a nice induction kit - vroom, vroom! Anyone who fancies this one, well it looks really nice! The mileage isn't necessarily something to worry about: If its been looked after properly, it won't be a problem! (Rattly tappets? Yes, they really all do that, sir!). The lack of recent history on this one is a bit worrying. And I don't like the wheels on that one: Aftermarket wheels just look wrong on these cars. IMHO they should always sit either on BBS cross-spokes or Alpina Multi-spokes. And if you reckon it'll be cheap - forget it. Prices of these under-rated cars are rocketing - I saw one go a couple of weeks ago for £3700! Admittedly that was mint, but even useable ones are £1500-2000 now. [smug]Makes me realise how much of a bargain I got....[/smug] Even this rough old ticket-less dog will probably end up going for £500+! cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9837&item=2497940075&rd=1This is how they should look: Nick
