Very reluctantly it's time to sell my datsun 100a Cherry. Unfortunatley my new job is much further from home and i don't want to add excessive miles to
to the old boy using him as my daily drive. It is a rare and very tidy 1974 Datsun 100a Cherry. According to Dvla records there are
only 7 left registered on the road in the uk! and i bet few of those are in as good condition. The previous owner was a technician at
a classic Aston Martin restorers in Sussex, he did a full restoration a few years ago. As you can imagine this was done to a
very high standard. Since then the car has been a regular at many Japanese and classic car shows and even been featured in and on the front page
of practical classics magazine! (December 2009)
Humphrey has a 1.0L engine which purrs like a kitten and 4 speed manual gearbox which is smooth and precise. He happily runs on unleaded and is
surprisingly nippy and good on fuel. He's mot'd till april 2015'and will be tax exempt next year. His current mileage is 55000 (this will rise as still in daily use, this is also genuine miles).
His interior is in original used condition showing wear on the front carpets and seats,a nice patina though nothing major,still has the original protective plastic
on the dash badge. He even has his original stereo which is in full working order. His body work is exceptional for his age as you can see from the pictures.
He's recently had a new clutch cable (the old one was starting to frey), a full carb rebuild and set up, new ignition leads, new fuel pump, new spark plugs
,condensor,points, air filter, oil filter and quality oil.He even has his original steel wheels and cross-shaped hub caps with 4 nearly new matching tyres(new spare never used).
He comes with a collection of spares including new old stock switches, cables, various brackets,badges, lights etc and a pair of brand new reproduction bumpers.
2x original sets of keys plus 2x new key blanks even the original datsun key ring! loads of paper work including original bill of sale
He is insured with an agreed value of £3500.00
All in all he's a lovely car but he needs a new home where he'll be pampered and shown off.
