Citroen Xantia 1.9 Turbo Diesel VSX 5 speed manual(top of the range model) Power steering Alloy wheels Central locking Towbar and electrics MOT Feb 2015 Legally runs on veg oil which is free if you recycle used oil or £1 per litre or less if you buy it new! An already economical car made even cheaper to run! Previous owner said It had had a brand new Citroen engine at 80,000 miles and recent new spheres, though take note I have no written proof of this. Brilliant runner Probably the most comfortable car you'll ever have, it's like gliding along on cushions lol Brilliant towing car due to self levelling suspension! Clean, tidy, reliable and incredibly cheap to run. Any inspection welcomed. £495, Chester, Cheshire.SOLD Offers considered once you've viewed the car. Not even remotely interested in 'WOTS UR BEST PRICE?' messages and replies, nor answering questions already answered above, sorry.

Hi mate. Are the tow bar electrics single or twin?

144,000 miles. Towbar has twin electrics I think, will double check later. Tyres all ok, no idea about when service due, it's a sub £500 car and service parts/ cost will be minimal.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I'm aware it's cheap, it's not that I would be expecting all that for sub £500 however it's always nice to know the full picture. :-)

Does Cavcraft keep any photos of the interior on record, or can any of your helpful* staff sort some out?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I'm aware it's cheap, it's not that I would be expecting all that for sub £500 however it's always nice to know the full picture. :-) Oh aye, and if you don't ask, you don't find out so can't fault you for asking! I haven't got a single bit of history with it sadly, but it looks like it's been well cared for, albeit in a slight old giffer way! The only thing I've found of any note (besides what's on the advert) is that speedo is a bit 'funny' in that around sort of 35mph (I think) it jumps to between 45-50. If they're anything like a BX it's probably the speedo cable. I got round it by using a free speedo app on my smart phone! Aside from that it's just minor stuff really: wants a good clean inside/out, driver's door lock has 'done a Xantia' and there's a dent on the sill, though I wouldn't have thought it would effect any future MOT. Suspension stays up for ages when engine is off, rises instantly when started up and it glides along just as it should. D4V1D: Erm, yeah, I'll get some more pic's when I can, including some RED HOT INTERIOR XXX action shots.

Sorry, just to add: still MOT'd til February and I'm more happy to take this to a MOT centre of anyone's choice (in Chester) if they pay for the test. Can't be fairer than that I think.

Bargain. Even if it hadn't had a new lump, 144k is nothing for a venerable XUD9T. The one in my 306DT has done 148k, pulls like a train and uses no oil/water.
I've had two Xants and love them. You'll get a pillow-soft ride and 50mpg if you're cruising, they also go surprisingly well when you're pressing on a bit. Handling-wise they will run rings around a contemporary Mondeo/Cavalier, and they are brilliant mile-munchers if you're on a long trip.
Dependable workhorse with years of life left in it.
GLWTS.

Don't suppose you might be interested in a '92 Volvo 440 and a little bit of cash your way? Bought it in September and it's just not really my thing, always fancied a Xantia with the funky suspension.

Ahh Good ole Xantia's Brilliant cars - as said like floating on air and drop the back seats and good lord - the load space is biblical Moved house with one of these - welsh dresser fitted in it - settee etc... awesome carrying capacity - and if I remember it holds half a ton without any suspension sag Had two - one of the most under rated cars going GLWS Its a billy bargain
