Right I got me 4 coils overs on the old ZS and A pair of c spanners sitting on my desk that have to back with their owners by the end of the day, so my Friday lunch break will involve lowering the car!!! Well it beats a cheese sandwich.
Before lunchtime I need to know I'm going to do it right so any pointers other than just wind them down.
i've been told I need the car on jacks, but I've also been told not.
Winding the adjusters down = lowering the car, right?
Come on team RR, the ZS needs to be low low low for Sunday at the french car day!
thanks
Andrew

Winding the adjusters down = lowering the car, right? Yes, work out how much you want to drop it measure the distance and wind the coilover down by that much. I don't know much about your car, but I would say that you would need to jack it up to adjust them. And finally slam the f**ker and post the pics ;D

jack it up, much easier then... i would also measure the distance between the springplate and some other suspension parts, so that you can lower it the same height as on the other side... also, i would use the spanner not to tighten the nuts, as you'll be having problems in the future ; the spanner is just necessary to open the nuts ....

OK added photos, just to check The car is currently on stilts with the coils seemingly wound right up so the springs are totally compressed ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/fiveoftwo/DSC00304.jpg) So I'm going to wind the adjusters down, say 3 inches, which should lower the front by the same amount and allow the spring to expand? Or will the springs just expand without lowering the car. Maybe I need shorter springs on the struts? ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/fiveoftwo/DSC00302.jpg)

GET THEM WOUND DOWN!
just unscrew it; thats all i do when i slam the kitten; if you want to wind them up (riase the car) you will need either a hefty mate to take the weight off the wheel abit; or jack it up. but for going down its easy as just unscrewing them.
there might be a grub screw in the alloy seat to lock them in place. this needs to be slackened to allow it to rotate.

Wind them all the way down!!!!!
Then see how awesome your car looks, and finally, wind them back up by how much ground clearance you want!
