Important stuff:
- MOT until August
- 198k
- 55mpg without even trying
So, it's a Cavalier 1.7TD with the Isuzu turbo diesel, which is notoriously bulletproof and happy to run on veg oil, in GLS spec so comes with one-touch electric windows, electric mirrors a tilt/slide manual sunroof, PAS, ABS, remote central locking and a fancy alarm that closes all the windows when you lock it. Also has that legendarily comfy, soft and fluffy Vauxhall velour that cosseted the fat backside of many a sales rep in the early 90's. Heater gets going quickly and fan works on all speeds, and although it could do with a clean the interior is very tidy for the mileage, the boot is massive and if you want to tow stuff it has a Witter tow bar and millions of torques.
To drive, it's very tight even without considering the mileage. Steering is light but tight, suspension is quiet except for a very slight knock from a wishbone bush that I couldn't hear but Danny swears is there, nice smooth ride. Brakes are smooth, strong and pull up in a straight line, and the tracking is spot on. Gearchange is nice and smooth and the clutch doesn't judder or slip and bites around halfway. Pulls strongly and the turbo spools up quietly, surprisingly nippy actually. Play about with the fuel and boost and these can be quite quick. Also had a new exhaust recently.
Body wise it's pretty straight, few marks and scratches here and there as you'd expect with any old car, looks very smart in general though, quite respectable and the colour looks great in the metal. Doesn't have rotten arches like most of these.
So, if you're interested give Danny a call on 07724 702 423, the car is in Maltby near Rotherham, 10 minutes off the M1 or M18
