Assuming I choose to keep it, it won't stay stock for much longer.
I'm toying with the idea of an M119, which makes going for the T56 seem like a better idea. M117 and M119 share the bolt pattern for the trans, so I would just swap it over.

Hi, i see this car mod you are doing is a labour of love, but just as a matter of interest, how much has it set you back so far? I know most if not all of us undertake tasks at great expense both to time and effort when restoring and modifying cars purely for the enjoyment and satisfaction gained, but it would be interesting what sort of financial cost it has taken.
Feel free to ignore this message, Best wishes Steve.

Hey Very nice build. Hats off for the efforts.
A little OT but needed some info from OP. I will start my w115 build by mid of next year. For now its just a rusted chassis to start with. I am also planning to shove in a v8 in it for the sake of it. I have a spare om606 (as my other build is w124 superturbo diesel), but I want a v8 in w115 for the sake of it. Now I am not after power in this chassis even 200hp is more than suffice. Just a rumbling v8 sound is what I am after. Now I am technically not a pro with such involving build and have to import everything like engine, trans and everything else. Now question is which v8 can be implanted in w115 from Merc lineup? As R107 chassis M117 is direct drop in but then is there any even more simpler mechanical option but from merc lineup?

I asked this question some years' ago on the German forum - let me dig out the link: www.strichacht-forum.de/read.php?1,119676,119915#msg-119915 If you use Google Chrome browser, it can translate on the fly. From memory there was a diagram of manifolds where one side crossed across to join the other under the car. I think the recommendation was the manifolds off the 380 v8 and also that the M116 380 V8 itself would fit well. What country are you in? Might be easier to get a whole W126 or C107 SLC and take everything from that. SLC is very similar to /8 underneath. Same subframe but bigger brakes.

Nice project this W114 5.6 conversion. I saw there is no space for the visco-fan in between the engine and radiator. The small electric fan probably does not do the job at low car speed and higher engine load, for example uphill driving or even idling. What is your experience with cooling in diverse situations? I´m asking because I also plan a W114-Coupé 5.6 conversion. I´m considering to stretch the front of the car to find space for the original (5.6) visco fan. Cheers

One more question. You produced new exhaust headers. Have you tried original Mercedes exhaust headers from a R107 560SL, would they fit without changes to the car frame? Thanks

any modern PWM OEM fans will be enough for the job. this is a C class one apparently. stand alone controllers are about £16
