Hey all looking at an engine conversion in a triumph dolomite using a mx5 engine and running gear but the wheel base is 6" out, I'm looking at extending the PPF to keep the support on the diff so need a drive shaft around 6" longer.
I don't suppose anyone knows if the rx8 or rx7 props are the same as the mx5's but longer?
Thanks Jack

Hi, I would wait until you have got the engine and box in and bolt up before you measure the prop length required. Wheelbase has not got much bearing on the length of the prop, for one thing the engine maybe sitting in a different position in relation to the front axle centreline.

Yes although that is true the engine and wheels are still in the same place regardless of how long the prop is. The wheel base is 6" too short so the front wheels need to go forward 6" so the engine will go forward 6" too. (mx5 engine is mounted to the front subframe)
