With some sadness Ive decided to sell my '81 Buick Electra lolow. Had this car since 2009, been awesome fun but time for something new.
Its got a Good straight body, apart from a little grot on the drivers a pillar rust free! mostly original paint, vinyl top all good. Electric windows seats and toys all work, even the air con is cold! cruise did work but linkage needs setting up with the new carb (I replaced the computer command with an older 4 barrel and vac dizzy)its got a sweet running olds 307 v8, desmogged and no cat, just one cherry bomb silencer lol. New cranking battery and its got a high output alternator fitted. Awesome pimp red interior. Nice chrome 13 inch player wires in decent condition still.
THE FUN BITS:
2 cce competition pumps,
accumulators on the rear mean it doesn't drive as horrendous as you'd think.
8 good 664 batteries
8 and 10 inch rams, not the highest lift but means doesnt stress or require suspension arm mods. so its relaiable and drives ok still.
Some reinforcement.
WHAT IT NEEDS:
Rear transmission mount is curse word (cheap and 2 bolts to replace)
Radiator is curse word.
Offside front caliper keeps sticking.
Brake hoses are split and ropey.
Could do with new hydraulic lines to the front, they are getting a bit old and split in places.
Bumper fillers are falling to bits or non existent.
It could do with more reinforcement if you're going to upgrade it or treat it rougher than I have.
All in all its a good project, you can drive it home if you're willing to accept you shouldn't, the brakes do pull a bit and you'll be filling coolant every services, but its runs sweet and changes gear perfectly. It has some mot,couple of month, but being a Lowrider it shouldn't, if you get my drift!. Mileage is (probably) 130 odd thousand. ask me anything I'm honest as curse word about selling cars.
quite a few spares. I have a recon 200r4 gearbox I would let go with it if I get 2500 for it as a easy project.(the gearbox in the car is fine)
