We have a 54 reg 1.4 TDi Skoda Fabia and are very happy with it / no intention of changing.
Unfortunately wife has had an accident (tripped over a mat in shop doorway and badly broken her left shoulder) that doctors warn us that she might not fully regain all movement / use.
That means wife MIGHT need an automatic car when she is allowed to drive again. Total lack of funds, - one of the penalties of us both taking early retirement, means simply not possible to finance purchase of another car so I'm looing into the option of changing the manual box in the Skoda to auto.
I've Googled for Polo diesel auto thinking they might be a source of conversion parts but seems they weren't made.
So doesn't anyone know if the bellhousing of a 1.4 TDi is the same as that of a 1.9 VAG diesel (as in Octavia) as they did make auto versions of that engine.
Thanks.
