	Hey all. Story is i ran outa argoshield a few months ago for my welder, and as ime a student with a now very lacking bank balance i cant afford another £100 for a years rental/refill.. So i looked into other methods, and the pub i work at, the landlord is a nice fella and i asked him last night if i could rent a CO2 bottle off him for a while till i have the pennies.. he said its fine.. I know CO2 is fine to use for welding (ime not making any spaceframes anytime soon, so i don't need 100% perfect penetration) but is "pub CO2" fine for using. I checked the bottle and it said "pub gas" CO2. For use in food products (or words to that effect). Is this good to use? I have the regulator i used for my other gas bottle, should be the same fitment...its just ime not 100% sure about using pub gas? any help appreciated.. edd

	Yes it's fine for welding. CO2 welds are harder than argoshield welds. I always find CO2 makes welding old metal a lot easier that argon/CO2 mix

	if you need and bottle and an adapter to fit an argon regulator to it, ive get em for sale.....

	Edd, you're gonna need A LOT of gas to patch my volvo up. Can you PM me your mobile number again because I've had to rebuild my computer and subsequently lost it. You still up for welding in early june? I need to lean on Angus to get the curse word running again.

	Dez - cheers man, i may be in contact with you soon if it doesnt fit right on! also out of curiosity, ive been looking at model A's for a next project, just checked out your photobucket and noticed youve chopped yours now... what the avaliability on model A's in this country, and what sorta price? ime thinking of doing something rather similar! jon you have PM. Still up for the welding but ime quite short on time! you done all the prep? and do you still want that exhaust? its cheap and i need rid of it! Edd

	a while back, pub gas had an addative put in that made welds go squiffy (never happened to me). but it made the beer taste different and the public complained, so the brewery responsible took the addative out and made it ok to weld with again. like I say, I've never had a problem with pub gas except for procuring it so this may not be totally true. I always find pub gas to be colder to weld with, moving slower helps
