Will pobably be ok but can t relly tell without atleast a pic! Make sure you lap it onto the crank with fine lapping paste before fitting. You can tell if somethings not right f it dosent lap properly!

it slides on & off fine & dandy it needs a blummin good cleanup, theres surface rust on the whole flywheel except the teeth & crank tailshaft taper, its an original FARNDON ENGENIEERING ultralight flywheel that i got for a real bargain price that made me think hmmmmm yeah at that money if its scrap i'm not gonna cry but once i had it in my possession i though that aint half bad!i'll try to do pics 2moro if it'll help, i'll clean the flywheel up a bit for the photos as i think the pitting may be hard to make out in ics but i'll do my best, use of a torchg may be used too! haha
could the tailshaft taper be white meteled the re machined, i thought white metal may be good to repair it as in years gone by it was used as a bearing surface, i have a white metalers 3 mins frm where i live
whats best to lapp it on the tailshaft with?

White metal is for making the attual bearings themselves so no you cant Use lapping or grinding paste, the stuff you get for lapping in valves would be ok.

cool one other thing are the starter rings swapable, ie the inertia type for pre enguaged, i know you have to carefully grind the welds off & be super carful putting one back on but i have'nt got each type to conpare the diameter, i'm asking slater as you are also a mini buff! progress is now being made on the 998 turbo woo hoo!
