I'm with HIC. Been great for me, but I've heard of others saying that they've had issues with them. But I would recommend them. Always been the cheapest for me. I think its anything less than 10 years old is not covered as a classic car by them. I know the 35 and the BMW are under normal insurance, but the Mini 1000, Hornet and Beetle (when I get it) are under Classic. They like modified cars too, had many a chat to the people there about mine and there projects. I think one of the guys there is a member here. This is the website if you want to do a quote www.hertsinsurance.com/index.phpShould be getting comission for this

I don't know about modified cars but elephant was pretty good for my daily, A very good tip though is to insure a woman as a named driver, my girlfriend saved me £80. Now I get to drive to parties and she gets to drive home, cant say fairer than that

Adrian Flux, Firebond, Footman James, Liverpool Victoria, HIC, Competition Insurance, Norton, Graham Sykes...
Do you really mean a classic policy or are you just looking for cheap insurance?
Clasic policies usually coe with a number of restrictions which may not suit your needs, for example...
must be a member of recognised owners club car must not be modified - much you must own another car as a daily driver you agree to restrict the mileage to like 3000 or 5000 a year car cannot be used between 11 pm and 6 am (seen that a couple of times) car must be kept in a locked garage when not is use. etc.
Thats how come they can offer premiums of like £40 a year.
To qualify cars usually have to be over 20 or 25 years old.
There are "classic" polciies for newer cars but they generally aren;t as cheap and don't always offer the same benefits.
such as
guaranteed right of salvage right to repair own car or select own repair centre insured parts off the car agreed value
also classic policies do not acrue and no claims bonus and do not include hire cars etc. if yours is off the road.
This is how come I'm 37, haven't had an accident claim in like 15 years and yet have no no-claims bonus....

If you get quotes online, they don't always represent how low the company can quote you. I once got an online quote for £950 Fully Comp, the company then rang me and said that they could do it for £220

Mrs JS has the Escort insured with Firebond on a limited mileage classic policy. Online quote was £130 FC, phoned 'em up and it dropped to £95. Similarly my 3-door - not modified, but I insured it for £300 with Admiral. Then Performance Direct, who quoted £400 online, phoned me up and said £185! Edit: Re adding a female - when I went on Mrs JS's Vectra insurance it saved her £95, but me going on the Escort ADDED a bit! Cheeky sods.

I'm with Adrian ****s and they seem quite reasonable, very cheap for me at least being a relative young'ung and quite heavily modified. Very flexible too which is quite nice

Or for those of us with enough cars to do 6000 in each! Seriously, we've got three cars on classic policies, plus two moderns on standard policies, all with RH. I've run out of miles on the GT/E, so will probably need to phone them and try and get a few more. The A will probably cover around 4000 this year, if I get around to fixing the brakes , and the Sports Hatch will probably do about the same.
