What sort of timing people using around the 0.5bat area?
Mines a 1.3 micra with turbo and supercharger. Running a 'safe' map and I'm getting bored
Yes, I know I have to give to a pro, engine only cost £26 so not to bothered if it goes boom

This is one of the ignition maps I had on my P6, 0.5bar is about 150KPa load on the right I do run a lot of advance, and this map I think has a little too much advance around 2000rpm at 130-160KPa load Here's a link to a calculator for KPa, bar and psi

I'm only on 10 @ 0.5 bar. So you think a bit more will be fine.
What's better, more boost or timomg

Have you got knock detection on your ecu? If so just keep advancing until knock starts at which point retard it a bit.

To me running as much advance as is sensibly possible helps to get more out of the petrol being thrown through the engine, it's damn expensive stuff to be burning inefficiently! I've put an order in for a KnockTek to fit onto my V8 as that's fitted with a pair of knock sensors on the block link. It should give an extra input into my Megasquirt kit for knock detection when I get on with that so on that engine I can run as much advance and compression as I can get away with.
