Hi Folks
Civic is due a cambelt change. I could heap more work upon Matt but I understand it isn't that tricky to do - could I do it?
I'm very good at what I call 'gentle' work (ie not having to wallop stuff with hammers - I get carried away and break stuff) so as long as no special tools are needed, I'm hopeful that I can do it.
Then, the big news is that I'm going to keep the miniMetro and turn it into my project car. Hopefully I can get it all sorted, maybe upgrade it a little (not Slater levels!) and sort out the crusty bits.

Should be nice and simple on a car that age,not like my pug where you need a degree in electronics just to interpret the imaginary tension figure that peugeot dreamt up. ;D

I can .pdf the instructions on how to do it from autodata if you want. Their repair time is down as being 2.2 hours so you can probably add an hour or two on if you have never done it before

Do you have to do water pump at the same time on these, ie) is it one of those ones you can only do by removing cam belt? I certainly did with the Camry, seemed a sensible precaution with 180-odd thousand miles under its belt. Consider doing tensioner too?

:)It's not a bad job, just bear in mind the engine runs anti-clockwise. I should add that Honda along with most Japanese car makers do their bolts up bloody tight! The crank pulley bolt will be very tight indeed, it's still a right hand thread though even though the engine runs "backwards". You have to remove the rocker cover to get the top belt cover off so you may as well set the valve clearances while it's apart.
