Courtesy of a lift from PaulW (Cheers Fella!), I spent a few hours at Snetterton race circuit in windy Norfolk on Sunday afternoon, watching some close racing staged by the Classis Sports Car Club and prowling the paddock areas.
I’m absolutely no photographer (for that you should check out my mate David Stallard ), he’s the CSCC Official Photographer) and have to apologise for the extremely grainy pics – I somehow seem to have inadvertently set the camera to shoot at around 12dpi…
Here’s are a few attempts at an action shot…!
Hard-charging Sunbeam closely followed by an RS200
Lovely little Davrian (I think) cornering hard
Firebird, unidentified hatch and Morgan – a pretty disparate field!
Reasoning that cars that don’t move are easier to shoot, we had a nose around the paddock.
This beautiful little thing was on-track and running hard as we arrived, turns out it’s a Triumph SLR, built by the fabled LawrenceTune concern. They made four in total, the other three on Morgan running gear (Hence the sticker further down) and it’s just delightful. Found a little more info on these rare beasts here and here . Anyway, here’s a few more pics.
On to some of the others…
Tough-looking Camaro was the winner of the Swinging Sixties class.
And a selection of random shots.
Away from the racers paddock was a sort of display area where there were other types of racing car to check out.
Can’t tell you anything about this RS200 but it was bristling with carbon fibre aero and looked pretty purposeful.
Cute little Midget racer looked like an absolute hoot! I just wanted to climb in and floor it!
Santa Pod had this flopper on display, not sure it was a runner though; that blower belt looks a bit loose…
And finally, a hard-looking DTM rep Mercedes, just relaxing in the car park.
Cheers,
Em.
