I'm i the only one that's finding British Tv programs talking in Dollars annoying all the time? I know its so they can sell the programs else where but its still annoying! You never see American programs talking in pounds do you.

I found it a little annoying too, although he did it through the last series, so it's not a surprise. He did mention it in his early haggling: 'dollars are the currency of the international car trade' (or something similar). They must sell the program all over the world so using dollars makes a lot of sense if he wants international business. I found the show rather good actually.

He got a lot of flack for it on twitter after the last series and he said something along the lines of "It's not my fault - discovery insist on it - my hands are tied."

Typical that the one thing he loses money on is an RX-7 Grrr. Mind you, I guess we rotards should be grateful he didn't wrap this one in snakeskin, it'll take years to undo the damage he's done to the RX-7s reputation Joking aside, I love the programmes, this and the normal WD. You just need to accept its a script for entertainment purposes that happens to involve great cars and then you can relax once the sting it's not all genuine is over with

To be fair that RX-7 appeared to have some sound modifications made (with regards to the engine; although I am always open to enlightenment . The exterior I shall admit was an acquired taste. As a well renowned, knowledgable and respected rotard luckyseven how well do the auto RX-7s sell in all honesty. Maybe I am being hasty but from my vague analysis I would have thought that it was a poor combination of engine and transmission, with the rotaries suiting a manual far more . The trading up series has always been a mixed bag for me in all honesty. Some of the trades seem almost unbelievable (in terms of how cheap and pricey some of the cars are) but OTOH such offers do crop up ; it is case of being in the right place at the right place (I have been there myself). But in all honesty can anyone be that lucky? Observing the different car cultures was an interesting point for me ; I.e how the Japanese (allegedly) do not care for haggling, the various cars which appeal to different markets etc. How truthful and representative it is of the international car markets it is remains to be another matter. Do not get me wrong, the staged Wheeler Dealers does get my juices going more but it is good to have a break and an insight into other cultures, someone with only one other car programme (if it can even be called that) has even bothered to cover. Maybe this is one of the reasons for why WD is one of the more successful series out there (and let us not kid ourselves, there are plenty these days ; Car SOS, Classic Car Bodgery (sorry, Rescue), Fast 'N' Loud and so on).

They are filming a bunch of episodes of Wheeler Dealers here in the states so I've been seeing Mike at various events making "deals"
