Due to injury I reluctantly have to sell my 1989 Mazda Eunos Roadster.
The good;
Mot till May 2015, went through with no advisories.
It’s a very early mk1 with generally good bodywork, it’s red and goes a bit pink if left unpolished for too long but buffs up beautifully, the boot lid has had a weird reaction in the paint and is crazed and the front bumper could do with a respray but it’s straight with no obvious marks and very little sign of rust.
Hood is watertight and looks good.
Had ball joint rubbers and track rod ends replaced for the last MOT
Bilstein shocks and eibach springs, about 40mm lower than standard – a good compromise between looks and handling.
ADL blueprint discs and pads all round – fitted less than 500 miles ago
Four new Michelin tyres fitted at the same time as the brakes
New waterpump, cambelt, tensioner, thermostat and housing, fan switch etc also fitted at the same time.
Brand new still in box ADL Blueprint clutch and spigot bearing
Pair of Brake Engineering front calipers, painted red but still boxed – when the pads and discs were changed I noticed one of the bleed screws was seized so I bought replacement calipers but haven’t got round to fitting them.
The Bad;
Less than 300 miles after having the cambelt changed the bottom pulley started wobbling and the engine now doesn’t run, I sourced a long nose replacement engine which will come with the car.
I had every intention to keep this car for several years hence me spending close to £1000 on it over the last few months. I started to strip the car ready for the engine swap, and have got to the point where it’s just a few more bolts and the engine can be pulled, unfortunately before completing the swap I was mucking about on my daughters scooter and fell off at speed knackering my shoulder. As a result the car has now been sat on ramps for a couple of months, I’m still unable to do any work on it and may be looking at surgery before I can think about picking up the spanners again.
I’m after a very firm £650, for which you will get the car, the replacement engine, the boxed ADL Clutch, the new calipers, a spare instrument binnacle cover and tombstone and a copy of Rod’s MX-5 Miata Enthusiast’s workshop manual.
You’ll need something to tow the car, and a big boot/van for the engine – it’s on a pallet and I’ve got an engine crane so can help load it.
I’m about 10 miles outside Leicester, mobile is 0754 1062124
Cheers
Mike
I'll try and get some more pics on later
