Hoorah! Today was the day for the applicaition of the KOOL KIT OF PARTS TM that I've been collecting/making/modifying in the last few weeks since buying the Saab. Nothing major, just some groovy flavour. Here's a couple of before pics: And here it is! The KOOL KIT TM itself! First job today was to actually get the moon discs looking good as they had been hanging on a garage wall for years. They're not genuine moon ones either but I wanted to try and replicate the finish Moon get on theirs. This was done by fitting one at a time to a front wheel, jacking the car up, putting it in gear and gently sanding with various grits as they spun. Here's the result after doing the first one. Then after application of these and the other bits (yes I did actually buy parts for it in IKEA!) we're done! That's natural seagrass type floor convering and the steering wheel is an old Triumph one with home-made centre and a modified Mountney Saab boss. The stickers I imported from the US as I couldn't find any nice period ones here. I just figure its kookie enough wagon that the surfing thing works a treat Still to come: Possible light stick hitting and red bands

Jonny, I feel like the tyres need a bit of a lift and there's an awful lot of white on the car already.... Skyway, stickers came via a US ebay shop, long-board-grotto

Most excellent.... looks brilliant.
Longboard sticking out the back window (if it winds down) would be the icing on the cake.

Longboard sticking out the back window (if it winds down) It's a one piece tailgate. Looking good Seth! Remember to remove the bumpstop extensions when you drop it.

bamboo plate surrounds FTW.
Red bands would look teh shizz on there. Needs to be done. Amazing how "not much" makes such a difference.

Umm, specifically not actually! The way I see it all the Tiki stuff is Hawaii/Pacific island related and I'm not 100% sure as to its relevence to car culture! (That's not to say I don't like seeing it - eg Sue Wrights cars ) I've stuck to what I see as a Californian vibe with this. It'd be really cool if the tailgate was split but unfortunatly not Streetrules, might still take you up on your offer though in case I think of something. Penski, I've been trying to find something to do with all the left over blind sections... I have to thank Julian Balme's Anglia estate for inspiration though B'stard I wasn't going to "get" them anyway. Gonna try home made... ;D

Looks good Seth but maybe a touch too close to the sky. How about a roof rack with an ironing board and an iron bolted to it?

Yes! There it is, after reading Rmads thread about kit parts (err, you know what I mean) I had to find this. Looking great Seth, I'd deffo go red bands, in a second. Then a gentle tap on the nose and you're good to go. I always prefer a rake with red bands, dunno why... But looking good, for sure. Had seagrass flooring in my transit and when ever I drove bare foot it always irritated the sh*t out of me after a while. I ended up with some sort of leg flicking, foot scratching spasm For the proper so-cal surf look, punch out the rear window bud... I bet that'd go down well in North London ;D
