Model: Ford Escort 1.4L

Price: £300
Contact details: PM
We bought this in January to replace the Fiat 126. It's now surplus to requirements so needs to go.
There's a bit of rust, a couple of small dents etc but for a Mk4 Escort it's actually pretty good.
The MOT expires on 24/10 so if you're quick there's enough to drive home without pre-booking an MOT. Currently taxed too, but obviously this is not transferrable.
It's a pretty good daily, practical, comfortable, OK on motorways etc.
The catch is that it'll need a bit of electrical work for an MOT, but I imagine this'll be easy if you've done anything electrical before. The indicators are not working, the headlight switch (on the same stalk) is broken so they're on dipped beam all the time and the horn (steering wheel centre) isn't working either.
The guy we bought it from got it in a house clearance or something and it came with no keys or paperwork. We have the V5 and some bills from the last few years, and it passed last year's MOT with no advisories. The key we have is fine in the doors and ignition but won't work the boot lock. It can be locked/unlocked from inside though. There's about 60k on the clock but we can't verify this. I'm confident it's genuine though.
Slight water leak into the boot, probably a light seal.
CD player, sunroof, 5 speed gearbox.
Comes with new front springs and shocks, the old ones still seem OK though so we didn't bother replacing them.
Timing belt hasn't been done as far as we know so assume it's well overdue.
