Hi all,
Bought this to use as a commuter car in Bristol and then for cruising home from University at weekends. I've got my hands on an e38 which also runs on gas and have decided I'd rather keep that so thought I'd offer this here.
It's a bit rough round the edges and does require some love but on the whole it's a good car.
It's MOT'd until February and taxed until January (although not sure what that means if anything according to the new laws on road tax.
The car is a 1989 E32 730i with a Zavoli multi point LPG conversion. I reckon it's doing the equivalent of high 30's to low 40's
MPG wise.
It's covered 216,000 miles.
The engine runs well on gas and is smooth and pulls well. The autobox works fine and selects all gears smoothly. The engine oil looks clean enough and I have personally flushed out the coolant system, replaced the radiator for a good second hand item (acquired from Tim on the forum) and replaced all the coolant with good fresh stuff. The car has 4 virtually new tyres. Two branded, two cheapys.
Mechanically the car seems pretty good with the one exception of some pulling to the left under heavy breaking. Judging by the front left tyre which is wearing badly on the outside edge, I'd say it was bushes although there is no klonking from the suspension. The car rides and handles well, it's quiet and smooth.
The body work is generally solid and in good shape. Panels are all pretty straight and the rear wheel arches are solid. The fronts have some signs of corrosion and there are odd patches on the bottom of the doors but nothing that couldn't be dressed easily. The petrol flap is also very rusty but the aperture shows no sign of rust. The sills and underside is all very good. There is a scuff down the passenger side and a patch of lacquer peel on the bonnet pictured.
The interior which is electric cloth is in fantastic condition and despite the millage it's very comfortable. All the electrics work, windows, sunroof computer etc but the dash has lost the illumination of the millage only. It can still be read. The roof lining is also hanging down a bit in the rear but has no tears or wholes.
I have a spare fog light and trim for the rear bumper and will fit these in the next couple of days, just wanted to get the ad up whilst it's clean.
Car is located in Swindon or Bristol depending on what weather it's week or weekend. Looking for £1000.00
A set of 15 inch BBS wheels are available separately and there is also the possibility of a leather interior.
