has anyone had anything to do with the trabants its got leaf springs all round and I'm going to lower it was going to fit blocks under springs? but had a mess today and don't think i will get it that low as the heater box and master cylinder will catch spring. then spotted a spare hole above bottom spring with just a big split pin it looks like a bush is missing any ideas or is this normal? was thinking could i just leave the main spring on and fit coilovers on that hole where split pin is?  its under no real load as car only weighs 650kg an does 60mph any ideas? |

I lowered the rear of my Trabbie by taking a couple of leaves out. Sorted the ridiculous negative camber at the cost of only being able to carry three peasants and two sacks of spuds instead of four of each. Not sure about the front end though. There's lots of mods been done to these daft little cars in Germany and Hungary, I'm sure the Internet will give you a solution.

yes mate you got the hilarious part right iv had alot of cars and neva laughed so much driving this thing the sound and smell should not come from a car

Yes that is normal, if you need help and information have a look on TrabantForums.com . Thay can go quite well, on mine I have raised the compression and fited a spots
Expansion chamber and will soon be putting on a bike carburetter on it. Thay are good fun and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
