I'm looking for an insurance company to insure my trip to the ring. I'm going from the friday to the monday and don't really want to get my current insurer (adrian flux) involved.
anyone know any good companies that do short term insurance for europe and track days? any rough ideas of prices?
thanks, luke

adrian flux are resonable people and are only just up road from me, they should be happy to sort it as they understand modified cars verry well

www.dayinsure.com/ do European cover for an extra cost. However, I've just gone on there now and they don't insure vehicles older than 1993 anymore?! What's going on!

I'd try Flux. They insured an additional car for me on my policy for a week for about £20 last year.

yeah i imagine that adrian flux are reasonable people but they're probably quite clever too. lets face it, you only drive your own car to germany for 2 reasons: the autobahns and the ring. both of which involve pretty high risks. I'm already a 21 year old driving an rx7, i don't need to give them any more reason to believe I'm a hooligan driver!
plus i figured it would give me less hassle to go through someone else. ill give flux a ring on monday and see what they say.
the rx7s 1988 so dayinsure is out then. curse word...

It is probably a bit difficult to use anyone other than flux to insure your car as you can only have it insured with one company at a time. Give them a ring I am sure there are loads of people in the same boat.

The cleverer companies think 'they're going all the way to germany to drive their car fast, they must be an enthusiast, they are highly less likely to risk losing their car by crashing it!'.
Not sure how flux feel though.

To bring this back up to the top momentarily..... www.norwichunion.com/short-term-insurance/index.htmThis generates interesting results. In that there's something distinctly cockeyed with that thing. (Click "short term quote") I did it with a few regs I know and each time got "before 1993, not acceptable." I then repeated it with a few 'modern' regs and let me through, no problems...... So I went back and tried it on a few others of mine (pre 1993) and it .......Let me through.....Doesn't seem to list Sprints though and doesn't actually check what the vehicle is compared to it's reg..........Glitch in the system I think. Might be one of those cases where if you actually try to purchase it, they just revoke it. Worth a try though! Doesn't mention anything in the T&Cs (after only briefly scanning them, may be in there) about it either.... Not convinced though. Let me know if you have any success..

I found this: www.tempcover.comSeems to work properly.........And lists Sprints as well . And 1500s, TCs, the works! I'd trust that more.......
