Since having owned my French pocket rocket , i've had no end of grief with it.
The day after I got it home , the (new) starter motor started slipping, although was fine everytime I started it while viewing it, say 5 times or so ,then 3 times on the way home.
Then the exhaust started blowing. The boost gauge stopped working, the list goes on.
Anyway £500 poorer later, it turned out a Clio starter had been fitted, 9 tooth, not 8 or the other way round, which in turn had stripped teeth on the flywheel.
That has now been sorted but it still runs badly at high revs.
When I give it beans it is fine in 1st,2nd+3rd but at about 3500-4000rpm it develops an annoying stutter, I geuss like fuel starvation, so does anyone have any thoughts.
One other thing while pulling away (normaly) from a set of lights it felt lumpy, then 2 minutes later it totaly cut out and would not start.
The fuel pump has a manual switch (don't ask), and was making a higher pitched tone like it had no fuel going through it, so should I just change the pump and se what happens?
Need it sorted so I can sell it and go back to rwd ftw
