Hi folks time has come to sell my much loved BRM Rover anyone that knows about these little cars will tell you how fab and under rated they are . I've owned the car now for 18 months and its fantastic and by far the most reliable hassle free car I've owned but twin boys and now a puppy it's just no longer practical otherwise I'd bee keeping her.
It's a standard BRM but for those who don't know a bit about the spec as follows
1800 cc k series Vvc
Close ratio box with tall gears will do nearly 50 in first lol and LSD
Disk brakes all round
Front and rear anti roll bars and with the gearbox combo handles really well
Full red leather interior complemented but turned alloy trim and alloy controls ( all factory fitted !! )
Deep green with the unmistakable orange grill ( Google brm formula one cars if you aren't aware of them )
The BRM was a limited edition and is now very rare and this is number 249 uk car and 251 total build car don't know why there's a difference but apparently ther is
It's now only covered 55,000 miles from new with some history to prove !!!
Mot runs out on
Tax runs out end of this month September but due to the law change will not be retaxed and will have to be taxed buy new owner and will be sawned
Loads of old paper work
So a bit about the car in the last 2 years or 10,000 miles it has had the following replaced
for those not aware the k series engine suffers from headgasket failure a lot well no need to worrie hear I've done it as a precaution ( hadn't gone ) and fitted the unrated multilayer gasket and at the same time it had new timing belt kit , head bolts , water pump , new antifreeze both fan belts and plugs this job alone would cost around £800 in most garages
It's had new pads all round disc were and are still all good
Two tyres uniroyals not cheap crapand had tracking checked and adjusted on a 4 wheels laser alignment machine no spot on
Clutch kit was a luk clutch kit not a cheap one and fresh gear oil approx 3000 miles ago
All wheels were refurbished about 12 months ago
De cat pipe and mg trophy bigger throttle body now should make around 150bhp
As you can see no expense has been spared on this car and the above work would cost you around £2500
As said this car had been faultless over my ownership and my bosses ( previous owner ) and in the last 2 years as said it's done about 10,000 miles and been to the nurburgh ring twice and done a track day at cur borough as well as being used every day and it's been a great car and has never let me down in no rush to sell so if I don't get what I want it's will be kept for a rainy day or trip to Germany lol
As you can see above the car is mechanically sound the only problems with the car is a small blow on the back box
And the body work need some love but is in a lot better than a lot of brms needs work to both doors and quarters and the drivers roof rail and a fresh coat of paint on bonnet wouldn't hurt but it's still in good condition and a lot. Better than most brms
have a look at the two on ebay to see what a nice car mine is and that's it's priced realistcally and a lot better car
£1100
I'm 5 mins from junction 16 of the m6 in Newcastle-under-Lyme so easy to get to for a look please no time wasters
Will post pics later and sorry to rabbit sure I've missed loads just ask and I'll help best I can thanks for looking
