A little while ago I changed my mig welding torch for a spare I had, its the bigger MB25 type, about the same time I started having to wear glasses (varifocals), since, my welding has gone to the dogs, I always assumed it was my glasses until I needed to use the small welder at work, No problem at all, I need a new smaller MB15 torch to try, EBay seems a likely source, any recommendations?

ive had the same thermal arc/arcair one that came with my welder for nearly 10 years of daily use now. its had all the consumables like liners, etc. and a swan neck where i fell over and stood on it, apart from that i had to replace the connectors to the switch and thats it (2 normal red spade crimps). you don't expect a eurotorch to last that long!!

i have an SWP MB15 torch, seems pretty decent, though i haven't done a massive amount of welding with it so i am not sure how well it will wear

I didn't know what you were on about, so had to Google it. For anyone else, its the physical size of the torch and how much current they are rated for. (MB15 vs MB25)... -Steve-

My present torch, a MB25, is OK it works well, but is designed for bigger wire and ampage than I use most of the time, using 0.6 wire the ark is hidden behind the shroud, its nearly 25mm at its narrowest, pull it away, and the shield gas dosent work so well, so, most of my welding has been done with the ark in a position where its almost impossible to see it. unless I look at funny angles, then my glasses fall off Roll on the MB15

My current welder is a Siegen 130 amp which, on reflection, might not have been the best choice but it is what I have. I need a new torch for it as the gas valve has broken but I am struggling to find one. It has two wires from the switch in the torch whereas most seem to have one. I quite like the idea of converting it to a Euro torch and upgrading the earth wire, does anyone have any advice or instructions?

be wary, most cheap welders that have wire feed systems that are mediocre to start with will not be able to push 4m of wire. you need a good strong wire feed for that, so if youre upgrading a cheapy, id stick to the 3m version.

I cant believe the difference a new torch has made, I can see what I am doing, but I must remember not to weld on a plastic Trestle DOH
