My brother has decided to put his Mk2 Fiesta up for sale as he's got himself a Mk5 Zetec S, not very retro but I think he wants the speed
I have driven this car myself as I went to pick it up from Kent and drove it to Suffolk and can say that it is quite a fun little thing to drive, its got a 1.3 CVH with *I believe* a Weber carb off a 1.4 or XR2? (It's definitely a Weber, I just can't remember what the seller we bought it off said the carb was from) It also has a Scorpion exhaust and K&N filter which all add up to make it quite a nice sounding little thing
The car sits on some XR2 Pepperpot alloys which have been painted white but do have some kerbing on a couple as the picture shows, the tyres are all Yokohama A539's which all have good tread and are really grippy!
Bodywork wise, I'm informed the sills are great and there is no welding underneath (I've not looked at the car myself for a while and remember is is a 30 year old Ford, so I would highly recommend viewing) You can see a couple of rust blebs in the paint on the rear arches and one of the front wings as shown in the pics, but these should be easily rectifiable.
On the bodywork, the previous owner had done a nice job on the bodywork, smoothing off a few bits and bobs, like the fuel filler cap and the bootlid (which has now been replaced with a bootlid with the numberplate recess in, professionally painted by a bodyshop)and the whole car was painted with a custom blue paint (car was originally red) The car has also been fitted with a single wiper conversion kit which has been done to a high standard and works well
On the inside, the car has been retrofitted with electric windows from a later Fiesta, while the car has been fitted with remote central locking. The interior is in decent condition for a car that is 30 years old, there is a bit of a tear on the rear seat which is pictured. The car has had a Philips radio fitted which has an iPod dock and USB functionality (I used to have this head unit in my MGB) Also an XR2 steering wheel has been fitted
So overall its a pretty tidy little runabout or an ideal first retro, its reasonable on fuel, cheap to insure, great fun to drive and pretty cool looking. Its done good mileage for its age at 82k (may have gone up a little as this was his daily driver) and doesn't look as if it'll need anything for its next MOT, just tidy up the little bodywork bits and off you go!
