Ive think ive found bit of a bargain buy in the for of a E type jag convertible rust free left hooker for £13000 witch just seems a little to cheap. The cars in grease and the seller a classic car garage has said he can ship the car over to Southampton for 750 euro
This seems a little to good to be true as the car was first advertised as being in France but the seller has said this is where his restoration garage is.
How do you go about finding out if the company and car actually exist?

^^ what he said. The only way you will know 100% is to fly out there and see the car yourself. For the car to be only £13000 i suspect its a scam, especially being a convertible

Sure you could fly over and drive back for less than 750 euros, and it would be a lot more fun (and less worrying) than waiting for a delivery.

Something you could do, is to put the contact details of the seller into google and see if it comes back with anything bad (scams, failed deliveries, grabbed cash and done a runner, etc)

Come on over, the weather is lovely!
Where in France is it? There are a few of us over here, maybe someone closer can take a look for you before you book a flight?
PM me the details, I can take a look (internet forensics is my field)

If it is in Greece, as has been said, you can take it on the ferry to Italy and drive up from Italy. My mum used to drive from London to Greece and back a couple of times a year this way and it'll cost a lot less than €750. If it's in France just drive it back.
Also, google is your friend. Just google his business name, address, phone number etc, and you should get some hits. Other people saying look at this lovely car I bought would be good. People saying look at this crafty scammer, not so good.

If a dealer is selling something cheaper than you'd normally expect then it should ring alarm bells very loudly.

I was asked to bring collect a Volga from Bulgaria and bring back to the middle of France. At the time there was the conflict in Bosnia so recommended route was south via Greece and ferry across to Italy. Then came the stumbling block - Greece can be very bureaucratic about things entering and leaving the country. So the reason it's cheap could be duties payable (to Greeks), not correct documents to allow "export" etc. Basically do your research before committing.

"If it looks too good to be true..." is one way of looking at it but I've had to scrap 2 decent motors over the years as I needed them gone ASAP (hence advertised them very cheap) only to be told "there must be something wrong with them at that price". I hated crushing decent cars that still had MOT on them ^ WHS. Do your homework to make sure you won't get a big bill when you try moving it home. Road trip! with pics please (RAC/AA card optional )

I will place a decent bet that its a scam. Sorry.
I might be wrong - you never know, but this is very common over here. Advertise a nice car at a VERY good price and after some back and forth with the seller it always turns out to be the usual "Its located in XYZ, or I am working overseas, my transporter can arrange delivery blah blah blah" scam.
Google the hell out of the advert, the garage (street view it too and make sure it exists) and the car registration number if known or visible in pictures. Also google image search the pictures as you may well find the same car advertised on various sites in various countries.
Last time I saw this was for a nice merc that I fancied, supposedly in Paris, but googling found the same car advertised supposedly in Belgium, Italy and Spain too. After a few emails with the seller, he asked me to Western Union him € 600 to cover transport costs to have it delivered to my door, where I could inspect it for 48 hours..... yeah, no thanks, pal.
