Circumstances have come about and I have decided to free up some funds by selling my R5.
Its a 1985 Le Car 2 Turbo, which was a run out line mk1 5 that Renault decided to put the remaining Gordini turbo engines they had, into a base model 5. - so it has standard fabric seats, rather than the beige corduroy found in the TX and Gordini turbo models ( and turbo 2's), wind down windows, Fergat deep dish steel wheels and all of them had sunroofs. It’s a rare beast and is believed to currently be the only one on the road. The car was featured in Retro Cars Magazine April 2014, I will include a copy with the sale.
The car is not standard though and has been modified to give it more modern performance and efficiency whilst retaining its old school charm. This consists of a full efi conversion with Jenvey individual throttle bodies and Omex 600 ecu controlling it. Running just 7psi it will run with more modern hot hatches. A lot of work has gone into this conversion including all new fuel system, wiring and a chargecooling. The car has potential for a lot more with a mapping session. The car currently has a map on that allows you to get around but could be improved.
This particular car was owned by a chap called Floyd Moody who used to race against Mark Fish, and kept it in his Garage in London whilst he was away in Europe with work. This meant that its not as rusty as some.
It is obviously lowered - it can be easily raised back to normal ride height as it has torsion bars all round!
There is a small amount of bubbling on the rear arches

A period sports steering wheel has been fitted. - I have the original unit and will go with the car.
There is a fitted car cover designed for the mk1 5 - this will be included in the sale.
I have a fair amount of collected spares, including glass, bumpers and all the original parts I removed. Everything will be included in the sale. Its with regret that I am putting her up for sale but its time to let her go. Odometer is showing just over 17k I'm not sure how accurate this is but history on the mot shows the last 4 years and it is correct to that. Mot expires on July 1st 2015 tax until 30/11/14.
I am asking £4700ono which isn't much for a French classic of its rarity especially with the work that has gone it to it. I can be emailed on adey1984@hotmail.com or called on 07909908886 for viewings.
