Wow, that looks like a pukka 735 Executive with extended buffalo leather interior and sport steering wheel. Leather trimmed dash and consoles etc. I ran one in Bronzit-beige over nutria buffalo from 1996 to around 2002.
we can only hope that a true E23 nut buys it and comes here with it.

interesting, looks very nice, but that interior by the pics looks to be in need of a clean. Nice, I like it. Any idea on the reserve?

Any idea on the reserve? buffalo leather always fades badly leaving a kind of blotchy look. Needs a lot of TLC to bring it back to the correct clean matt finish. It must not be painted with normal leather dye. I'm guessing either £2.5k or worse for the reserve... Imagine what a LHD one would fetch in Germany these days

Blimey, that buffalo leather is wonderful...!!!
I nearly purchased a 635csi a couple of years back that had buffalo leather and it was not a cheap option at the time from what the vendor told me...!
That e23 looks a gem, a real beauty...

Dashboard would be a cheap (though not easy, if the dashboard swap in my e28 was anything to go by!) fix. That leather is lovely

the dash could be sorted with those filler kits that are around, seem to yield decent results. Mind you its hard to see what damage has been caused.

actually looking at it again, it looks out of kilter on the ride heights, the rear dampers have not settled or risen as the rear should be higher and the front lower, and as this has self leveling then I think that may have an issue, especially as the car is obviously running when he's taken the pic, so maybe it has faulty dampers? You could replace those with std ones but on a car like this it would ultimately need those sorting. The ones on my 745 were similar and that was a dodgy fuse, but when sorted it rose to a level ride height. This seems at odds.

Dash has about 10 cracks in variuos places some big some small i don't think dash filler would help, owner emailed me pics can't figure it out how to upload here

Do we think this really has self levelling suspension? I must look out an 86 price list from BMW to see if that was available at that time.

It was std fit on the 745 and I imagine it was optional on 735s, but would have been very expensive. Ideal for caravan towing I guess. Shame we have no way of inviting the buyer to join this topic/forum. Perhaps it will reappear on ebay in a fortnight priced at £3750 "bargain rare classic worth £10k easy with some TLC"

Do we think this really has self levelling suspension? I must look out an 86 price list from BMW to see if that was available at that time. There is a vague 1984 option called Rear Axle Control priced at £499 for all E28/E24/E23. Would that be full self-levelling?

Disaster.... main shaft seal has let go on my ZF box, dumping all the transmission fluid and stopping car from working Getting it trailored to a 80s BM specialist next week hopefully who change these things all the time and hopefully i wont have killed the valves and torque convertor and can get away with new seal and clutch plate rather than whole new box. Happy start to 2015s 'budget retro' lol

Well the quote (for main seal, if box is still good) is £250 + VAT which seems fine, fingers crossed i don't go all 'man maths' and run up my own bill with loads of added extras being changed lol
