DSG200W. So, this is the car that started it all off for me. When I was about 9 my dad came home with this E23 735i. Only a couple of years old at the time, it was love at first sight for me. Owned for several years before being written off on a wet winters night. WSC 753Y. Dads replacement for the written off DSG. Baltic blue 735i ASE, full spec series 1 with electric front/rear seats. C778 PCX. Fast forward to around 2006 and after around 6 E28 528i's I found this lovely series 2 735iSE. Alpine white with black leather. RFE 269W. I found this 1 owner series 1 735, genuine 40k from new and in absolutely mint condition. Exactly the same colour combination as my dads first one so how could I not buy it C400 EKM Latest acquisition, series 2 735iSE. Polaris silver with beige leather, i'll update here with work completed.

First job was to refurbish the tired wood trim. Gearshift surround was particularly poor. After a rub down with 240/400/600 sandpaper and a wipe down with turps. And revarnished. Shift surround looking a lot better. Swapped out the E34 x spoke spare wheel for an original TRX2 I had in the shed. Lots of eBay purchases required with old cars

Those Chestnut red E23s are awesome. I'm happy that my Silver Surfer has gone to a good home. Selling after 10 years ownership has caused me more pain than I expected. As a result I'm at last getting my 728i properly repaired so that it can stop being a garage queen and start being a car again

More great E23's Liking that very dark blue one in the first picture! Arctic Blue over navy blue leather. That car was one of mine. C878WLC a 728iA SE with the highest spec I've ever seen on a 728i. I was obliged to sell it when I was long-term unemployed, in 2011. A later owner repainted it black. I spotted it on ebay couple of years back. I still have those 17" BMW wheels in my wheel hoard.

Have you come across PacerPete in Iver Heath? Last time I saw him he had two of these beached in his garden (he's normal and well adjusted!) - one of them was a 745i Turbo (at least I think it was a turbo - it might have been a 24v) pm me and I'll give you his number.

The more I think about it, it was LHD, a yank import I think, so that'd be a turbo? It was whirlpool white with buffalo leathers. and there was a load of E23 leather in his aviary. I kid you not.
The car was a bit of a corpse on a stretcher as I remember, but definitely savable.
Consider yourself encouraged!

I've also visited Pete and his white 745i. Its a European 745i turbo LHD ordered new by an Arab bank in London, IIRC. He also had a UK RHD Bronze-Beige 735i Executive with buffalo leather and BBS spoilers. This is going back a good few years, mind. He also had a Maserati on his patio and numerous other garden ornaments on wheels.
