Hi Folks
I am looking to fit a new stereo in my old Jag - the fascia has been cut for a DIN sized head unit by a previous owner, so I am not too bothered about it looking suitably period. However, I am thinking that getting a DAB radio would be a good idea, as at some point FM is going to be switched off (or so I am told!). The problem I have is with the aerial - it seems that to get the best reception one needs a whip aerial, and the stick on the glass type internal aerials are not very good - however I don't really want a black plastic aerial on a '60s car - it really needs to be chrome!
Does anyone have any experience of DAB in an old car? Are the stick on the glass aerials really as bad as all that? Does anyone do a chrome DAB aerial? Is there a way of using the original AM/FM aerial?
All thoughts and advice gratefully received!
Many thanks in advance!
cheers
