Can anyone give me a rough idea how much i should be paying to have my car moved by a transporter? Or any recommendations? I'm based on the Notts/Derby border. I know it is a very vague question but the car is a Mk4 Cortina and i want it moved 10 mls. The car is quite low but rolls easily. Normally id hire a trailer for about £40 but the only car i have available with towbar is a Sierra 1.6 so prob not up to the job. I don't want to use a bar because its had loads of work done years ago before it was parked up and I'm not sure what is tightened up and whats not. Sorry for the rather dull and probably daft question, here's a pic

I can't see anyone doing it for less than £50 to be honest.

I'de just use the sierra, 1.6 is plenty enough, we used to tow a laden horsebox with one - assuming you don't have to tackle any massive hills.
Like compass I can't see anybody but a mate doing it for less than £50 as a proper job, given that with faffing loading and unloaded etc it'll take the best part of half a day

Probably a good job we never got stopped then, I'de never even thought about checking the weight plate on anything before towing till I started reading about it on here a couple of years ago....
