Hi Guys, just bought a set of alloys second hand, minor kerb rash on all but one, where there is a fair chunk pressed into the lip. Luckily it is just the lip and nothing else so no structural/leaky damage. I've been told by a friend that they use metal epoxy, JB Weld or similar to fill the gap and sand to shape. Have any of you guys done this? Any tips or other methods you have used? No pictures atm but if it helps its not too dissimilar from this sort of damage: Any help would be appreciated cheers guys and gals

You could use JB Weld, but at the first sight of a tyre lever, it will disintegrate.
Better take it to an Alloy Welder and have it filled with real metal.

Not that I would recommend anything they sell but Halfords do an alloy wheel repair kit, contains some kind of epoxy resin metal filler, I've used chemical metal with good results, but not on the edge of a rim like that. stevieclj does make a good point about the tyre lever.

If you want to drop the wheel over, I could weld that up for you. I'm in Rugby/Daventry
