	Hi again, another update on the fibreglass Ghia. Mounting the front bumper: Mounting the fuel filler and connection to tank: Constructed some sun visors attach to the rear view mirror: Remade the engine tinware so it correctly fits now: Fitted a rear fog light:

	Its coming together nicely, the body looks really thick where you put the fuel filler through, is it that thickness all over?

The thickness of fibreglass varies all over the body. It’s not like the lightweight front ends you see added to race cars. The thinnest area I’ve found is the firewall and the thickest being the wings where I cut for the fuel filler. I guess some areas are extra thick to help keep strength.

	Hi all, sorry it’s been a while since my last post. It’s been a struggle all the way, trust me, but the reproduction model Ghia is nearing completion! Here’s what I’ve been up to; L.E.D lights fitted- Windscreen bonded in place- Window wiper arms modified to clear windscreen rubber surround- Number plates fitted- And a few other minor jobs-

	Are the wipers ok as they don't clear the centre section of the screen? I thought that was a specific requirement of the wipers for an MOT/BIVA test as on all cars I have seen the wiper arcs cross during use. Looks good a little like a Schwimmwagen with those headlight DRL's same designer Carman.

I need to address this before getting it on the road. I was thinking some longer length aero blades might do the trick? What do you think? Nice photo by they way!

	Hello again! During the lockdowns over the past year I've began refining and finishing the Karmann Ghia recreation project. I've found this project a bit like tackling a very long essay. Get the bulk of the wording down first, then tweak and tidy later. Some major tasks such as replacement of the brake master cylinder, rear brake pistons and lower ball joint have been carried out successfully. A few parts have been remade/improved. Lots of little refinements are all beginning to add up. The engine is running well and is coming up to it's first oil change since the rebuild + re-torquing the head bolts soon. Enough talk, here's some photos of how far I've got. Brake master cylinder replaced. Rubber gaskets around gear stick boot and cockpit frame. Under dash wiring has had a tidy up. Fuel tank clips refined and painted. Fuse box cover remade. One of my favourite mods was drilling out the hinges of the engine lid to convert it to quick release Boot catch remade. Foglight bracket remade and colour matched.

	Coming together nicely! Will You keep that mix of chrome and flat black on the trim? I´d rather have them color coded to the body, maybe the bumpers in carbonfibre look, too. What was supposed to be mounted here?

	Over the weekend I constructed a parcel shelf for Darla. It's a lot like the "Bambus" ones you can buy, but I tried to match it to the style of the Grant steering wheel installed currently. Completely custom like the rest of the car! I feel it pulls the cockpit together nicely.

	Hello again! There's been more repair work & replacement of parts on Darla since the last post, but in-between that I've been getting around Derbyshire to some local shows. Parts of the car I've been working on: -Freshening up the engine for sale purposes; a new alternator, fuel pump, belt, pulley wheel & HT leads. -New front beam was installed after tidying up the front end. Some patch repair work was carried out on the frame head. The subframe was taken out for this, repaired & painted. -I've also installed a few speakers up front with bluetooth connection. Another summer like this one soon please!

	Looks great! I've enjoyed following this along. Is there any way you can pull a mould off a Ghia and make yourself a removable hardtop? Would be a lot of work but make the car a lot more useable??
