Hi All, I remember ages ago there was a thread on here about retro jackets, I think it was DarrenW that posted up a pic of the Adidas Walter Rohrl jacket and I wanted one! I thought it was really cool and have been looking for one for years but they are hard to get hold of and expensive it seems. Anyway - so, guess what just arrived... (library pic): Finally tracked one down and it's really cool, just thought I'd share. I also have a pair of these Adidas Goodyear trainers which are ace, the sole is like a tyre tread. Am I sad? Mine are brown though. Anyone got pics of other retro car perv type jackets/clothing? Cheers Stu

I've got a pair of those Adidas trainers in red/white. Fantastic to drive in! The ones I've got are a bit knackered now, but I'm going to get another pair just to drive in.

You ain't retro-styley until you've got a pair of messed up Superstar 1s! Check out the driving-spec curve to them now aswell I would have a massive collection of adidas jackets etc, but uh... I can't afford it.

Face it Stu - you're putting off growing up - which is a good thing. The other route is muddied with slacks and arran sweaters - steer clear...
A mate just sold some proper retro Nike trainers. Can't remember the name but they are bright red and yellow. Anyway, some yank paid about £250 for them. They must be 20 years old at least. My mate never wore them because they were embarrasing!! I like the Rohrl jacket a lot.

Depends what you mean by retro clothing. I spent much of the 80s and early 90s rummaging through 2nd hand shops, oxfam, etc. scoring some great 40s, 50s, 60s jackets, belts, shirts, waistcoats, trenchcoats, etc. I'm happy enough with modern repro items in the right style though. Just prefered getting the real thing and it being cheaper LOL.
I'd love to find some proper 80s Pike winkle picker boots, don't know if Phaze still make jeans but they were all we wore back in the day and when I've lost my recently aquired belly I'll be back in them, could do with some new ones too...

Face it Stu - you're putting off growing up - which is a good thing. The other route is muddied with slacks and arran sweaters - steer clear... It's all true! I'm approaching an important birthday in November this year, perhaps that's it? Looking down the barrel of 30 makes one do odd things, like dress in brightly coloured retro clothes that would most likely look better on younger folk! ;D I have already cracked the early mid-life crisis thing by arranging to buy my mates Beemer as a 30th present for myself... it's all downhill from here...

Have you seen the ones that are like racing boots, higher than the usual ones with a velcro strap at the top - they are cool! I saw some reduced to £20 the other day and I'm resisting buying them just for my trip to the 'Ring in June - the correct racing shoes could take 0.1 seconds off my previous best lap...

I've got four genuine Toyota Team Europe rally jackets from the early 80's. Must drag them out & see what state they're in!
