Well Folks after nightmare automotive porn with the 72 Falcon coupe i was looking into some other model falcons and it seems the XD-XF were based on the same shell as our Mk2 Granada. It seems a variety of enignes were fitted including a 4.1 straight six and the 302 v8 and i think the 351 v8 also. I've added a couple of pics to get us started but lets see what you guys can find. Anyone know of any over here? wondere how much they differ from a granny?

Ive recently been to aus to visit a mate of mine who moved a couple of years ago, both him and me are ford nuts and we dicussed these in depth with some locals. It seems they are very similar looking but have no common panels between them. sorry m8

over here in Aus we seem to borrow alot of car's basics from overseas (or at least we did) our first 'aussie' car was a canned Buick prototype reproportioned, most of our holden commodores have been opel commodores upscaled and mechanically tougher, so it wouldnt surprise me at all if the Falcons are the same, taking the designs from your ford and upscaling them to suit our tastes and planting our possibly cruder mechanics underneath. Funnily enough the evolution of this seems to be making our cars quite popular at the moment, because we have honed the art of fitting american sized engines into european sized cars, take a look at our latest HSV Commodores, we take the Chev Corvettes top of the range V8 engine and tranny and drop it into what we call a 4 door 'family' car that to the yanks looks soo small they recon it should have a 4 in it!
