I'm really liking this, what sort of mpg do you realistically get? my old E39 528 would do mid 30's just cruising around, any chance of this one cracking 30 on a gentle run? need to make the man maths work! I got asked the same question when I sold my other E23 728i - I don't use the car as a daily (I do too many miles so have a modern diesel for that) but it's not particuarly bad, but likewise not particularly good. As a guide, I chucked a full tank in it a few weeks ago (around £80 worth) and it's done 260odd miles with a quarter of a tank still left in it.

I have run a 1986 728i auto E23 as a daily driver since 2006. On my 55 mile commute to work the computer says 34 mpg. On the way home my best ever was 40 mpg by driving carefully. It is essential to keep the engine and ignition system in a good state of tune.

I'm amazed this hasn't sold yet. It's an absolute steal at the price and e23's are awesome cars.

I'm a sucker for a green BMW. Anyone want a 328 touring? I wish. Good luck with the sale

Not sure. I sent PM in August as was wanting to come up and see it that weekend but never got a reply so bought a Jag instead. Shame, I would've loved to be smoking around in this.
