1986 (C) BMW 728i SE Auto MOT: Will come with 12 months (currently only has a fortnight left on it) Tax: August 2014 (will re-tax at cost) 145k miles. Having recently sold my other E23, I was dead set on keeping this one, however an unmissable deal on an E32 I've been after has reared it's head, right at the wrong time! I've just bought an XJ40 Jag to replace the other E23, so after toying with what to sell, I've decided to test the water with this. It runs really well - good starter, with a healthy engine. The guy who had it before me was a bit of a perfectionist, if truth be told, and he replaced all sorts of hoses, nuts, bolts etc, to keep the engine bay tidy and well maintained. I've just today serviced the car too. Gearbox is also good, shifts up and down the gears no problem, good kickdown, no clunks or bangs etc. Suspension and steering are fine too. Exterior wise the car is in really good condition. There are some small pin dents on the bonnet (around 3 I think) and if you look really closely there is a very minor paint mismatch between the O/S/F wing and front door, compared to the rest of the car, so it's had paint at some point. Has 14" alloys all with really good tyres. No rust on the bodywork. Interior - a really nice place to be. No rips or tears, cracks etc anywhere, it really is clean and tidy for its age. The drivers seat isn't suffering the usual sagging that these do either. I am reluctant to get rid of it I must admit as it is a beautiful car. I've got it booked in for MOT on Tuesday and I'm confident that it will pass following my inspections today. Price wise, I'm advertising for £1150 o.n.o - I'm not interested in a swap or part ex as I'm only moving it for the space and nothing else.          |

Nice. I am quite partial to 80s iron... That is seriously clean. If I had the space i'd take it off your hands... subtle drop, wine bottle window tint, and reliable enough to tour Europe.
Is it missing a NSF wheel bolt in the photos?

Is it missing a NSF wheel bolt in the photos? Good spot - it's not, the bolts have chrome covers on them, but this one is missing unfortunately. |

A proper 70s style Beemer. I had a late 70s 730 with the carb a few years back - was a lovely drive.
It looks a bargain at that price.

Having sat in this car while buying Johns other e23 I can attest to how nice it really is, full on luxury spec, cloth is in great condition as is the wood.
The colour in the flesh is really nice, almost as dark as british racing green.

Soon there will be less than 10 Series Is left in the UK. I don't blame you for not selling. I just sold a stunning Ser II and am kicking myself. I do have two Ser IIs left but neither are stunners. I was gonna sell 'em but now I feel minded to get them fixed up and then use and enjoy them. |

I'm really liking this, what sort of mpg do you realistically get? my old E39 528 would do mid 30's just cruising around, any chance of this one cracking 30 on a gentle run? need to make the man maths work!
