didnt wanna start a readers ride thread on it as there arent any bike/scooter threads so i thought id see if peole were interested in here first. its vespa douglas p125x, built in bristol 1982, exported to italy, imported back in 2001 then bought by me in 2006. it was resprayed last year, no idea what the colour is but i like it alot, its quite pearly looking in the sunshine. only ridden it once on a private lane but I'm hoping to go out on it today properly. no real plans for it yet execpt ge it run in properly as it had a new barrel and piston recently. i would like a new seat too but thats staying on until ive done this years coast 2 coast. Coast 2 coast means i have to ride to blackpool stay over a nite, then ride form blackpool to harrogate then to whitby all in one day, probably about 7 hours riding in total. so if any of u guys are in blackpool on the 1st of june, or harrgate or whitby on the 2nd then look out for us, should be about 3000 scooters there. hope u like it guys

Damn it, I'll be near Whitby about a fortnight later! Scoot looks good, bet it's easier to get bits for than my Lambretta too! I know that inevitably one day I'll end up with a nice reliable Vespa. ;D

Nice scoot I got one when I was 16 with the intention of restoring it. Spent MANY an hour over the winter in the back garden with a bit of sandpaper getting it back to bare metal, then respraying it with rattle cans, only to find out when I tried to put it back together, that the chassis was naff Absolutely gutted I was! Bought another chassis but I was a bit deflated by then, ended up giving up and selling it on. Thinking about it now I really really wish I hadn't!! Considering getting another one now though Just got to work out whether to spend my money on tarting up the car, or just get it running and then buy a scoot! The first chassis was a v90, the second one was a primavera. Had a v50 engine to go in at the time because I was only 16. God I wish I'd not given up That last pic is how it was eventually sold. (Good seat as well that, nice and cheap from SIP in Germany)

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

i know a bloke who has over 30 v90's, his garage is like a museum for em, wicked place to look around. one of my fav scooters by far. u can fit an 110 head and barrel to em, then they go faster than p200's they're wicked.

Doesn't fancy giving/selling me one of them does he?! I'd like to get a primmy 125 lump with a 135 kit one, then it'd shift for sure!!

i know a lad with a primmy aswell he stacked it into a wall a year ago and has just finished re building it.
no he wont sell any of em, the greedy sod haha, he just buys em and lines em up in his garage unless they need restoring then he restores em and lines em up haha

Really?? That's a shame IMO, they're "rare" enough as it is, would be good to see em being used regularly.......
But oh well, if that's what he wants todo and he can, then it's up to him!!

That yellow and black one is the same colour scheme I had on my PX 200! I had the usual bits and bobs,210 Mallosi kit,Fresco.big Dellorto carb etc.Theoretically it was good for about 85mph,but the handling is so dire with 10 inch wheels and sports profile tyres that my bottle used to go at about 60! ;D I often get Scootering magazine and toy with the idea of another one.......................... You'll have a lot of fun on it

Okely dokely, here's my Lambretta J125: Bought in 1998, got it running, one day it stalled and wouldn't re-start so it got stashed away until last summer. After a lot of messing about I got it running but then the flywheel spun on the crank, chopping the woodruff key in two and scoring the crank taper. I'm currently trying to summon up the enthusiasm and cash to get it sorted but given the value of the scoot as spares, and the fact that if it needs a crank, I'm screwed, as none seem to exist anywhere - it may meet a sad end. I'd sell it to the right person, but I know I'll regret it...
