Hello all, Just letting you know I've decided to offer my 1930 Big Nine for sale. I've had it three years and have hardly used it in that time.
It's a fabric bodied 4-speed model.
There is a huge history file dating back to the 1960's including the buff log book, various letters from owners and even Standard themselves, It was added to the Standard Register in 1963, old tax discs, list of previous owners, loads of old MoT's, Spent many years in the Clifford Fairweather private collection until it was all sold off in 1971, I have the sale catalogue with the car pictured within. There was a receipt from Sotherbys when the car sold there for a very large sum some years ago (annoyingly I cannot now locate this!). The original number was removed a few years ago, (not by me I hasten to add). The car is mostly original and unrestored both inside and out.
Very rare to find an original fabric body! The car starts and runs very well but the engine is now getting tired and could do with a rebuild.
I am therefore asking what I believe to be a sensible price of £5,000.
More photo's in the album here:
