Toyota CROWN Majesta with a Merc swap and camber

I'd say it was done to emulate the swage lines on the new E-class.

I was trying to work this out too, I think its like this one?

I found the build thread for this many months ago, I'm trying desperately to find it again as I have caused uproar on the Fast Car fb page regarding this car

Looks beautifully well done. Would be interesting to turn up to a Merc meet and see how long before they worked out what it was!

Looking at all 3 side by side you can see just how much custom work has gone into it, I can just about pick out the roof/top window lines from the toyota and the grille and headlights from the merc but the rest looks custom to me

The camber thing doesn't do it for me, but god there's some hundreds of hours of work gone into making the body look as sharp as it does - Seeing the base model makes you realise just how much....Someone must really have had some vision. Yep those swage lines are ace!

Thing is, the reason they do it is Mercs are expensive high-end imports in Japan, so they remodel cheaper stuff to 'get the look'.
Over here, high end European cars aren't exactly a rarity, so the impact is lost.

As a comparion, In the harshest of terms, its like sticking a rolls Royce grille and tail lamps on a Volvo estate. In other words, a bit wibblepoo and cheesy.

Edit maybe that's not the best example- more like when people remodelled pauper spec minis and stuff with high-end grille shells and lights and that with lary paint jobs in the 70s stuff that was just a bit cringey, you know.
