Since i was 16 in the mid eighties i've always been going on either scooter rallies or custom car shows and camping in a tent. Always lauged at the old farts with their caravans at car shows, now i've joined them. Does that make me an old fart?  Has anyone else got one or am i the only saddo on here? |

well since aquiring me a granada with a towbar last night, i'm seriously thinking of getting one maybe to live in on and off.. but i don't know if i am willing to take that final step into total traveller/bogan lifestyle...that one you put up though just encourages me it looks bloody cool.

Yeah its very very nice, not sure if it means you are getting old, think it depends who you are, I think if i was to get one, it would confirm that I am turning into my dad, not ideal! |

Yes, you're getting old but the caravan is cool! Old cars always look good (to my slightly getting older eyes) when towing something. It means they're getting used properly We've got a small trailer tent as Katie's parents have always had them and she grew up with month long holidays in Europe when she was a kid. |

I got a travellerwagon too, but mine's not a classic (1991). Beats kn ackering your back pitching a tent and sleeping on the ground at shows, and being a fairly late van means I can have a hot shower, and the other half has got somewhere warm to stand while she's making bacon sarnies for half the campsite...

Thats exactly why i like our 70's trailer tent. Mattress and sprung bed at the right height, which makes a big difference when you have to go for that enevitable too much beer 4am curse word. |

A caravan can only be cool if it's being towed by something cool/fast and not doing 30 on NSL roads.

Of course you are getting old: you've bought a blinking Cheltenham!! Must be something about owning Septic I guess.  Seriously, yours does look good. I posted a couple of photo's of ours on a forum for caravaner's under 40 and they loved it! 8-)Very retro they all said. |

I have camped at the NASC nats for the last 15 years and it (the camping part) has been getting less and less enjoyable every year - so much so that last year I was so adamant that I was never going to spend another night in a tent again that I left the curse word there! I wonder if it's still up...

Trouble is, i spend money and time that should be spent on my cars on the caravan. Its going in for paint next week and the seats are being re-upholstered 50's diner style.
