Hi All My Magnums front seats are in really good condition, however I still want to replace them with the Porsche Tombstones I've purchased. So in order to keep them in the condition they currently are , what is the best way to store them? Surely bubble wrap isn't enough on it's own is it? It's just the front recliners in a mixture of pvc and velour.... mmmm nice! Cheers for looking and not judging Nick

Hi, the loft would probably be the best place, warm, dry and dark. Clean them first without getting them too wet. Leave them up there for a couple of days to dry and acclimatise, then place them in a large plastic bag and use a vacuum cleaner to suck out all the air out of the bag.

Cheers for the replies guys, unfortunately for me the loft is not an option, it's an old house and there is no floor up there. I do have a garage with ample roof storage will that be ok?

I wrapped up a pair of seats in pallet wrap for storage in my lock-up. When I unwrapped then at a later date they had suffered from mildew damage and were scrap so ensure 100% dry if you use plastic.

When I restored my Vennie back in the day, I had all my interior reupholstered. Thinking it would take a lot of time, as my car was still a shell, took 3 days. So my Friend who owned the garage I was restoring the car in offered to store them in his garage at home. He recommended I covered them loosely in plastic tarp, and put a plastic box half full of salt on each seat Punched holes in the top of the box. And 18 months later when I was ready to fit them, they looked fine. bit of dust but fine the salt drew in any moisture, the 18 months crossed two winters. so yes try that method !
