	I have a set of number plates on my Audi 80 which I got too clost to with the pressure cleaner a few weeks ago, so some of the reflective vinyl is stripped off. Where do I go to buy some of this in white and yellow, as I would like to remake the old plates with their raised letters. Or does anyone have some lying around to sell, trade, donate ?

	You can still buy the temporary stick-on letters and reflective backings for stuff like caravans and trailers. It's a bit of a grey area regarding the new reg plate rules but I would have thought a caravan / trailer accessory shop should be able to supply you with the reflective vinyl backing stuff you need.

	i think that the rules go that you are allowed to have the plates that suit the car as when they were new. that also applies to yank cars. you can legally drive with american style plates on an american car. something to do with the plate size recess and some other stuff. its one of those wierd loopholes.
