Mercedes 200 w123 auto low rider! Retro vintage beautiful
Location: South East England - chatham
Model: Mercedes E Class Year: 1983 Milage: 108,800 miles
Here is my beautiful Mercedes,
She is a total stunner and turns heads everywhere!
The venerated w123 chassis, one of the best Mercedes ever maid, highly regarded by all m-b enthusiasts the world over!
This car has been magazine featured and a copy of it will be included with the sale
The car has been lowered, which improves handling, not for "boy racer" appeal
It's been a seintifically calculated lowering (yes really... Car Weight/spring strength to cut coil
ect ect) lowering as per directed by the mercedes-Benz owners club.
This eliminates the wallowing and boatiness of the ride!
The engine is smooth as silk and runs like a dream all day every day.
Starts without fail, always first time some times second, never thrice.
The oil filler cap was leaking, so a new OEM one was bought and shipped from Germany to cure this, and it has
Does not use a drop of oil, which was changed at 108500 so less than 300miles on it, of course it was at great expense the Mercedes reccomended oil, oil filter was changed at same time.
Oil pressure is spot on, 3bar constant, drops slightly at idle (as it should)
Gearbox is perfect, amazing how a 30year old car with proper maintance can be as good as she is, box oil changed at same time as engine oil, however... The Benz owners have time and time proven that there are better oils available now than when the car was new, so I used the higher spec oil for peace of mind.
New plugs were fitted recently, also fuel pump and filter last year
Had at huge expense a brand new full exhaust system from engine to tailpipe fitted a few years back, as still is as new, stickers still visible!
The interior is perfect bar a tiny chip... I've bought brand new cars in worse condition.
There is a fully stocked first aid kit
The spare wheel has been refurbished in white as it was slightly tarnished, includes jack and wheel brace.
Tires are all as they should be... Black and round not much to say about these.
3of the hubcaps are fine one is lesser condition than the others, as i had to replace one becuse it was stolen, I can only assume it was a youth and he now wears it on a chain like flava flav.
Spare set of lovely Mercedes E-classe 16"alloys included with all good tires, and the all important longer wheel bolts to allow fitment! (standard ones are too short)
Now.... The bad
There is a "squeak" from something in the front, notthing alarming, some days it's worse, some days I forget it, it's intermittent and I'm having trouble tracing the problem, I believe it to be a dry bushing or something like that it's defiantly notthing major or mechanical just a weird noise. ***this was diagnosed as a squeaky steering return spring** will sort before sale... Grease to the rescue!
As all cars of 30+years there is some rust on the wheel arches on the rear, now please do not take this as its a rotbox and the arches are falling off, this is not the case, minor but worth mentioning.
Few other minor spots NO structural rust... Zero, none nada...
If I was to keep the car I will think about a lower half vinyl wrap in the same shade of blue as the interior, this is no problem as I've weapped cars before! This may be done prior to sale/trade
Mot is about to expire however I will put a full mot at buyers expense, it will as always pass without doubt.
Tax till August.
Onto the rather vulgar subject of money,
Will now take 1850 However that being said, I will take a serious cash offer if sold asap
