Hi,i've been a lurker rather than a poster on here for a while now. Is there any love out there for a Subaru pickup resurrection thread ? It started life as a farm hack in Pershore Worcs where she worked hard but was given a seriously thick wax treatment from new which helped fight off the worst of the grot that kills these little trucks.

Well i have owned this beige one for nearly two years now, originally i bought this red one as a stalled project from a farmer locally with big plans to get it back on the road quickly but once i started poking at its underside i soon became aware it was going to need a mega amount of welding and fabrication underneath just to get it solid and safe. I spent a few weeks cutting out the grot and patching up where it needed it but it was slow going and i really wanted one that was more up and together and not a full on resto. While looking for parts online i came across this one up in Halifax its write up would have had you believe it was a solid truck just needing paint so i bought it unseen and had it delivered to Kent thinking i could move the red one on and just tidy the body of the beige one. It had fibre glass wings and front valance fitted and two dented but fairly solid red doors fitted and best of all nearly a years mot so i could use it while improving it. A few things soon became apparent when i started using her firstly the engine was a bit tired and its oil pump leaked and would mark its spot wherever it was parked, the brakes and driveshafts were worn out as it groaned/vibrated when slowing and it knocked its backside off when turning and accelerating. Underneath though she was 100% more 'together' than my red one although still not without a couple of poor 'mot' patches to the ends of the sills etc. So i decided to break the red one for the parts needed for the beige one and so gutted it of everthing usefull which i have stored in a 8x4 shed in the garden. I still feel bad about scrapping the first one but it really was too far gone to ever be able to go back on the road. So now i had one fairly solid up and running Brat and a shed full of bits...
