THE CAR WAS BROUGHT NEW BY A LADY IN 1980 FROM "RINGWAYS FORD" IN DONCASTER, IT STILL RETAINED ITS DEALER STICKER IN THE BACK WINDOW WHEN WE BROUGHT THE CAR, IT WAS THEN PASSED TO HER HUSBAND IN 1995 WHOM THEN PASSED IT TO HIS FATHER IN LAW IN 2001, REGISTERED TO HIM IT WAS ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MUM WHO DROVE THE CAR FROM 2001, SHE PASSED AWAY 2 YEARS AGO AND THE CAR WAS PUT IN FOR A BODY RESTORATION,
WORK INCLUDED SOME UNDERSIDE WELDING, 2 NEW WINGS AND A NEW BONNET, COMPLETE STRIP DOWN AND RESPRAY INSIDE AND OUT WHICH WAS DONE TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD, THEN WAXOYL TO THE UNDERSIDE AND STONE GUARD TO THE LOWER EDGES, THE CAR HAS ALSO HAD A FULL COAT TO THE UNDERSIDE INCLUDING IN THE ARCHES OF GREASE TO PROTECT THE CAR TOTALLY,
THE CAR WAS THEN NAMED AFTER ITS OWNER "JUNE ROSE" AND A NAME SIGN PUT IN THE REAR WINDOW WHICH I HAVE TAKEN OUT FOR SAFE KEEPING, IT WAS REGISTERED TO JUNE'S HUSBAND FRED, WHOM WAS VERY GOOD AT MOST THINGS, SHE WAS BED RIDDEN WITH CANCER AND HE DESIGNED A DEVISE TO HELP FAMILY CAREERS GET BED RIDDEN CANCER PATIENTS OUT OF BED, THIS IS NOW AT A COLLEGE BEING DEVELOPED,

WE BROUGHT THE CAR FROM FRED HE WAS VERY HEART BROKEN TO SEE THE CAR GO AND IT WAS VERY MOVING FOR US TO, THE CAR HAD A BAD MISS FIRE ON TICK OVER AND SMOKED A BIT ASWELL , FURTHER BODY ISSUES WERE FOUND ASWELL, WE STARTED BY COMPLETELY STRIPPING THE THE TOP END OF THE ENGINE DOWN, THE MISS FIRE TURNED OUT TO BE THE VALVE TIMING HAD BEEN SET TO THE RULE OF NINE WHICH CANNOT BE DONE TO THESE ENGINES LEADING TO BURNT OUT VALVES WHERE IT HAD BEEN LEFT LIKE IT FOR SO LONG, THE VALVES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW ONES, THE VALVE STEM OIL SEALS WERE REPLACED, THE HEAD AND BLOCK INSPECTED AND THEN IT WAS REBUILT, THE THERMOSTAT AND TEMPERATURE SENDER WERE ALSO REPLACED, OF COURSE THE VALVES HAVE BEEN SET THEN RAN FOR A FEW MILES THEN SET AGAIN SO SHE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A SEWING MACHINE LIKE MOST MK1 FIESTAS
WE HAVE CARRIED OUT SOME BODY REPAIRS, THIS INCLUDED CUTTING OUT RUST AND MAKING A SMALL REPAIR SECTION IN THE BOOT, WELDING FROM BOTH SIDES, REBUILDING THE DRIVERS SIDE JACKING POINT AND REPAIRING THE INNERS SILL REAR SECTION IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
NEXT THE BRAKES WERE TURNED TO AS THEY WERN'T VERY GOOD, THERE SEEMED TO BE LOW EFFORT TO THE REARS, SO THEY WERE STRIPPED DOWN AND THE SHOES WERE ALREADY NEW SO THEY WERE CLEANED AND SCORED AND SET ON THE AUTO ADJUSTERS, 2 WEEPING REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS REPLACED, DRUMS WERE ALSO CLEANED AND CHECKED,WHILST THE CAR STOPS BUT THERE IS STILL A BIT OF LOW EFFORT BUT THE HANDBRAKE HOLDS THE CAR FINE, I HAVE BEEN USING THE CAR AND I'm USED TO THE WAY IT IS HOWEVER YOU MAY WISH TO DO FURTHER SERVICE WORK TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM
THE CAR IS NOW AT A FAIR TO GOOD STANDARD, AND AFTER 2 MONTHS OF BEING WITH US IT IS TIME FOR "JUNE ROSE" TO MOVE ON, I HAVE DONE A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF WORK WHILST USING HER ON A DAILY BASIS BUT I HAVE ANOTHER PROJECT CAR TO TURN MY ATTENTION TO, SHE HAS PROVED A VERY SMOOTH DAILY USE CLASSIC AND HAS NOT MISSED A BEAT

THE MECHANICS OF THE CAR ARE QUITE GOOD SHE START FIRST TIME EVER TIME WITHOUT FUSS OR FAIL, RUNS WELL AND IS A QUIET AND HAPPY ENGINE FROM THE OFF, QUICKLY GETTING TO RUNNING TEMPERATURE AND STAYING THERE, THE GEARBOX IS A VERY PRECISE AND SMOOTH, THE CLUTCH IS A LITTLE HIGH BUT HASN'T SLIPPED, THE EXHAUST IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND NOT LEAKING, THE WHEEL BEARINGS ARE ALL QUIET AND THE BRAKES ARE AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, ALL THE ELECTRICS ARE WORKING WELL
