Hello to all,
I'm new to this forum but have already found it very informative. I'm the proud owner of a Reliant Kitten which is in the process of being heavily modified.
I was directed to this site by John Beardmore after discussing issues with my Kitten.
I'm still in the process of putting my car together and would like some advise from some people who "Have been there and done it" if you know what I mean.
I'm also looking for a thread which shows a Front Disk Brake Conversion to a Morris Oxford, as this is what I'm now trying to achieve but am having some difficulties. Does anyone know hwere I can find it??
Cheers,

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Woah, redtop in a car that weighs next to nothing! Great plans! Who was it who did that awesome bike-engined Kitten on Retro Rides? I can't remember who it was.

I was going to put a Bike Engine in this but with the gear linkage and reverse issues it seemed easier to stay with a XE engine as it has already been proven in other cars. The car will be fully stripped with just 2 Bucket seat and a Cage, so it should shift!

can the body be unbolted of the chassis on these? in the fact that it could be driven on a private road with no bodywork as such?

Welcome aboard!
interested in this talk of disc brakes. you keeping the 10s on it?
maggot998turbo, yup, body unbolts easily, but you will have to mount the steering column again, along with the pedal box and the master cylinder, and fuse box.
theres one or two that keep coming up on ebay like it.

Cheers for the comments guys,
I'll have to look into removing the shell as it would probably be easir to do my welding.
Maggot998turbo - Sorry no turbo, but tbh thet not worth having as they are tiny. The engine you see is the one thats going in (its shown in a Capri).
You can find them pretty regular on ebay - pretty cheap too, but hang out for a good one.
Mine had been restored and resprayed before I got it as it was my uncles motor which just sat in the garage - so i took it off him and took a angle grinder to it!!!
I'll definatly come to the N E meets just let me know where and when.

RatlookReliant - I'm fitting 13" x 9" Compomitive ML Alloys to it (4 x 4.25").
Thats one of the problems - Fitting Ford wheels to the front as the back is already sorted with the Anglia axle.
Any ideas on the brakes.
